Coy's Steakhouse was scheduled to reopen in early 2024 at 305 Malvern Avenue next to Hotel Hot Springs. The project has been delayed by over a year but it is supposedly still planned. We hope they can duplicate the steaks and salad that made Coy's famous.
CLOSED DUE TO FIRE - January 16th, 2009
We keep this page up to remember a historic Hot Springs establishment.
300 Coy St, Hot Springs, Arkansas
Coy's burned the morning of January 16th, 2009 just a day before the opening of the racing season at Oaklawn Park. Many visitors to Hot Springs were disappointed as Coy's had been a regular stop on every trip.
Coy's Steak House was a fixture in Hot Springs, Arkansas for aged steaks since opening back in 1945. Locals especially miss Coy's salad dressing. Below is a recipe for Coy's House Salad Dressing. We're not sure how close it is to the real thing but it is really good. It's a great salad dressing with fresh garlic that is adictive.
Coy's House Salad Dressing - Hot Springs Tips Version
1 teaspoon salt
2 1/4 teaspoons paprika
1 1/8 teaspoons ground white pepper
2-3 cloves of minced garlic
2 cups mayonnaise
2 cups Miracle Whip dressing
1/4 cup granulated sugar
2 tablespoons lemon juice
2 tablespoons white vinegar
6 ounces (1/2 can) evaporated milk
4 Tablespoons of Accent seasoning (MSG)
Combine the salt, pepper, paprika, garlic, Accent and sugar well. Add to a blender with remaining ingredients and process until mixed and smooth. Some people think of MSG as something bad. It is a great flavoring agent for those not allergic to it. Just like peanuts, don't eat them if you are allergic.
Makes around 1 quart. Serve with salad and crackers just like Coy's did it!
